Podcasting has changed my life, quite literally.
I started listening to podcasts back before they were cool again. Not just saying that, it’s true. I’ve been listening to podcasts for more than four years. I started with investing podcasts and moved onto more technology based podcasts, as I’m trying to shift my focus to a career in tech.
My current job is over an hour from my house so I have a lot of time everyday to listen to them. And I listen to a lot of them. Although I have found that you should probably only listen to podcasts that are relevant to you and what your trying to achieve because listening to some of these will set your mind soaring off in 5000 different directions and it will get you no where. Trust me, I know from experience.
Anyway, since I listen to so many podcasts I’d like to give my top 3 for web development. This was not an easy list to compile, so if you a host one I skipped on, please don’t get mad at me. These are podcasts that I think can be very helpful to individuals just starting out on the path that I’m on now.
Developer Tea is hosted by Jonathan Cutrell from White Board. This podcast has a lot of information and insightful interviews that go in to the mindsets instead of the technical side of things. Because your mindset is everything for anything. I find this to be my number 1 top pick for a podcast. I have been listening to this podcast since it first came on iTunes and have never stopped.
The CodeNewbie podcast is one that I have just started listening to lately as I have been really pushing towards getting into the tech industry and I figured I would give this a listen. Through listening to this podcast it revealed an absolutely awesome training resource that I just started to go through as well called Freecodecamp. Saron is an awesome host that brings on some great developers to tell you about their story. It will help inspire and motivate you.
Well those are my top 3 podcasts, at least for this year. Maybe I’ll start making an annual podcast top 3 list, we’ll see. But until then tell me what your favorite podcasts are, I’d love to hear them, always looking to expand my list of podcasts.
